Annual Compliance and Training

To ensure a safe and compliant working environment, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide high-quality care, all Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Home Health Aides (HHAs), and Personal Care Aides (PCAs) are required to adhere to the following compliance expectations. Failure to meet these requirements annually will be considered job abandonment.

Annual and Ongoing Compliance Requirements
1. Annual Training
- HHA-Specific In-Service Training: Topics specific to Home Health Aide duties.
- General In-Service Training: Broader caregiver-related topics applicable to all roles.
- Tuberculosis (TB) Training: Annual training on TB-related safety and procedures.

2. TB Testing and Screening
- Upon hire: Complete a TB test, which includes either a two-step PPD or a Quantiferon test.
- Annually: Complete a TB self-symptom screening and risk assessment, acknowledging whether you are experiencing symptoms or are at risk of developing TB.

3. Annual Competency Demonstration
- Direct Care Workers: Complete a written competency exam each year to assess caregiving knowledge.
- HHAs and LPNs: Complete an in-person skills demonstration annually to evaluate practical caregiving abilities.

By adhering to these policies, caregivers contribute to maintaining a high standard of care for our clients and a safe, compliant working environment. If you have any questions about these requirements, contact your supervisor or HR immediately.
